Job description

LANL has an intellectually diverse environment and demands creative, innovative and pioneering solutions. LANL is multidisciplinary with expertise in chemistry, materials science, bioscience, physics, engineering, computer science, social science and many other fields. As a national laboratory, high priority is placed in interdisciplinary studies. Facilities include a large number of supercomputers, high-throughput biochemistry, and next-generation sequencing, as well as many other capabilities. We are located in the mountains of northern New Mexico, near Santa Fe, with close access to skiing, hiking, climbing and mountain biking.

A post-doctoral position is available in the area of RNA biochemistry. Research areas will focus on structure-function studies of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in epigenetics. The position is 2 years (with possible 3rd year extension) with competitive starting salary plus benefits.

What You Need

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in biochemistry/chemistry and have experience working with RNA biochemistry and SHAPE probing. We are seeking highly motivated and independent candidates that excel at trouble-shooting in the lab. Other useful skills include protein expression, protein binding assays, next generation sequencing, and structural biology skills. Approval for US citizen visiting our campus requires 15 days. Approval for foreign national visits requires 35 days. Approval for visits by foreign national citizens of DOE sensitive countries requires 70 days.
